Aluminum - IC 342 The Hidden Galaxy
Gaze into the cosmic depths of IC 342, an intermediate spiral galaxy concealed behind veils of galactic dust in the constellation Camelopardalis. Though immense and radiant, its light is dimmed by the Milky Way’s dusty equator—earning it the nickname “The Hidden Galaxy.” If not for that haze, it would shine visibly to the naked eye. Discovered by William Frederick Denning in 1892, IC 342 lies roughly 7–11 million light-years away and belongs to the nearby IC 342/Maffei Group, one of our closest galactic neighbors just beyond the Local Group.
Astrophotographer Astrocat reveals IC 342’s majestic form—its spiral arms unfurling like an astral octopus, reaching out through interstellar mist. Printed on sleek aluminum, this piece captures the galaxy’s rich hues and delicate structures with stunning vibrancy, creating a modern, floating effect that transforms your wall into a window to the cosmos.
✨ Product Highlights:
Luminescent aluminum surface
Scratch & fade resistant
Hangs ½” off the wall (vertical or horizontal)
Comes with a picture hanger on the back of the metal print ready to hang
🐾 Every purchase supports animal rescue efforts—your art makes a difference.
